A Year of Hook Ups — A Celebration by the Sea

This November marks one year of We Are Black Fish. Over the past twelve months we’ve fished, cooked, swum, laughed, learned and built something beautiful together; a community connected by water, story and care.

Join us to celebrate how far we’ve come, to share food by the sea, and to look ahead to what’s next; including the launch of The Baobab Travel Fund, our new bursary supporting access to coastal experiences and outdoor learning with us - made possible by funding from The Baobab Foundation.

What We’ll Do

This Hook Up is about connection, reflection, and community.

We’ll come together to get to know each other, learn about fishing through communal skill-sharing and demonstration, share food, and simply spend time by the sea - hanging out, chilling out, and celebrating a year of building something together.

We’ve increased ticket numbers for this session - bring your family, bring your people.

As always, Black and Global Majority people are prioritised for ticket spaces. If the event books up and we have people waiting, we may need to redistribute tickets that were booked by white attendees to ensure equitable access. We ask that you respect this policy; it’s part of how we live our values of community care and access.

This is a free event, but please only book if you’re able to attend - our spaces are limited and in high demand.

Donations are strongly encouraged to help us keep these gatherings accessible for everyone. We are a small CIC and your support directly funds equipment, food, and materials for future Hook Ups.
